There are significant differences between PVC gypsum board and ordinary gypsum board in terms of materials, performance, application scenarios, etc.
Materials and construction
Ordinary gypsum board: Mainly made of construction gypsum, it is a light-weight, high-strength, thin-thick building material with good sound insulation, heat insulation and fire protection properties.
PVC gypsum board: One side of the paper-faced gypsum board uses PVC as the main material, and the other side is covered with aluminum foil. This design makes the PVC gypsum board both moisture-proof and fire-proof, and it is scrubbable and easy to clean.
Performance differences
Ordinary gypsum board: lightweight, non-deformable, fireproof, flame retardant, good processing performance, can be sawed, nailed, planed, and bonded. However, its strength and toughness are poor, its life is short, and it may become dusty after long-term use.
PVC gypsum board: Good strength and toughness, acid, alkali and chemical resistance, water resistance and scrubbing resistance. Maintenance and replacement are easy, but the price is higher, the sound insulation effect is poor, the fire protection performance is poor, and toxic gases may be produced when burned
