There are significant differences between mineral fiber boards and wood panels in terms of material construction, service life, installation and maintenance.
Material construction
Mineral fiber board: It is formed from stone powder, cellulose pulp and other additives through high temperature and high pressure. The surface is usually decorated and protected by UV coating.
Board: Typically cut from natural wood with unique wood texture and color.
Service life
Mineral Fiber Board: Due to the characteristics of the material, it has high wear resistance and waterproof properties, and can resist moisture, scratches and wear, so it has a long service life.
Woodboard: Limited by natural wood, it is susceptible to moisture, deformation and wear. It requires regular maintenance and repair, and its service life is relatively short.
Installation and maintenance
Mineral fiber board: It is usually installed by clicking and assembling without using glue or nails. It is easy and quick to install.
Woodboard: The board needs to be fixed to the ground with nails or glue, and the installation is more complicated1.
Mineral fiber board: Maintenance is relatively easy, just wipe it with a damp rag. It does not require special maintenance and will not be affected by stains.
Woodboard: It is more sensitive to humidity and temperature changes. It needs to be kept dry and undergo regular maintenance, such as waxing and polishing
